When the person answers let them know that you own a 'home business consulting company' or similar depending on your situation and mention any thing you know from a previous conversation or that they may have placed on a form to find a home based business.
Quote some personal detail that you may have and ask them questions related to their needs to get them really listening!!
If they are not interested in the business ask them "Do you shop on line?"
When they say yes. I reply
"Most people do these days" then say.
"The reason that I ask is I'm part of the promotional team with an international e-commerce company that is about to open in Australia. They have discounted shopping with all the leading brands and a really cool reverse auction site.
"Have you heard of a reverse auction?"
I then give a 30sec overview and mention some of the bargains like the cars "As part of the promotional team I have free credits to for the auction to give away!!!" "Would you like me to send you some free credits?"
Registration is also free.
"Maybe the best way for you to learn how best to take advantage of your free credit would be if I sent you a short 25min promotional presentation. Over half the presentation involves details on how YOU can get a bargain on the reverse auction. There is about 10mins spent on the financial potential of the company. It is shaping up to be maybe bigger than E-bay. Just skip that section and I will call you tomorrow to answer your questions" |
